#31DC2015: Inspired by a Tutorial - SmplyNailogical's Gradient Ikat
Hey there!
Today I have a manicure that have been on my to-do list for the longest time everrrrrr! It is a tutorial that was done by SimplyNailogical. Her videos are so funny and entertaining to watch! To be specific, today's entry for the 30th day of the challenge is inspired by this
gradient ikat tutorial done by her!
I first had on one coat of Sinful Colors "Unicorn" then another layer of Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat" and let dry. Then I went in to do my gradient with Sinful Colors "Unicorn", Revlon "Apricot Nectar" and China Glaze "Something Sweet".
The rest I need not explain how I did it as I followed through with Christine's tutorial linked above!
I do feel that my mani did turn out more messy than I have expected, or maybe it is because of my short nails that hinders it from being as nice as Christine's!!

#31DC2015: Inspired by the Supernatural - Superman!!
Hello hello!
Today, we are going supernatural! First thing that came to mind was... Superman! So I decided to do a simple nail art with the Superman logo and some colored French tips.
For the logo, I started with two coats of Barry M "Cyan Blue" then I sketched the somewhat diamond shape with OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" and filled it in. Next I outlined with Revlon "China Flower" and then closely following the logo found on Google images, I drew on the "S" shape. Then I added a layer of Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat" and waited for it to dry. Then I went to outline the logo with black acrylic paint. After it's done I ended with Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat". Phew, that was a mouthful!!
For the French tips, I used the colors previously used for the logo (red, yellow and blue) with a nail art brush, colored my free edge. I then went in with black acrylic paint and lined carefully below the French tip and also used the matte top coat.
Pretty love how this turned out! It's girly yet powerful in a sense because of the Superman logo hehe! What do you think?

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Flag - F1 Grand Prix Race Flag
It's day 28 of the challenge, it's coming to an end?!?!
Today my nail art is inspired by a flag. I had a hard time thinking of what flag to do. I then surfed the trusty Google images for inspiration and I came across some race flags! Boom, that'll be it!!
So I had on two coats of Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" and then added Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat". I let it dry then I used black acrylic paint for the design.
I simply created checkered pattern on my pointer and pinky by started off with drawing sketch lines. Then filling alternate boxes in black. For my middle and ring fingers, I drew on the flag with the checkered patter on it too.
To make more precise lines, I used a toothpick to scratch out mistakes or fine tune some areas. Note that you can only do this when you already have a top coat before that :)
I think that this mani looks pretty cool and reminds me of the Grand Prix Formula 1 race! Do you watch the F1 and keep up with the seasons too?

#31DC2015: Inspired by Artwork - Society 6's Treat Yoself
Hola!!
Today I am gonna be inspired by an artwork. I discovered Society 6 a few years back and I was so glad that I did! It allows artists to upload their works and the Society 6 then reproduces these designs in many items like clocks, tote bags, shirts, etc.
I bought a tote bag from them last Christmas as a gift to myself with a really lovely design with some words. I love designs with quotes and pretty patters. So I came across this design which says "treat yoself" with beautiful turquoise leaves design.
So with that, I started on my nails! I had on two coats of OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls". Using a small nail art brush and Morgan Taylor "Gotta Have Hue" and drew on some curved lines and then using the body of the bristles to create the leaves. I did these on my pointer and pink so that it feels like the leaves are coming outwards from the middle and ring.
So for the inside two nails, I decided to write the quote over both nails. I first sketched with Sinful Colors "This Is It" a light yellow gold then I went over with Sally Hansen "Golden-I" which is a darker gold.
If only my nails were longer, the leaf designs would've been nicer... Oh wellz.

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Pattern - Tribal plus Herringbone
It's time for one of my fav things... pattern!
Yeah, I do have a thing for 'em :P Today I am gonna be inspired by some tribal patterns that I have not done in like two years?!?! Well, it's time again! Plus some herringbone patterns too!
I had on two coats of piCture pOlish "Unicorn" and then added Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat" for a smooth surface to draw on the designs.
For the herringbone pattern, I simple drew on two lines on my nails. Then drew on slanted lines on alternate sides and then filling in alternating areas in black acrylic paint.
For the tribal design I started off with a triangle at the cuticle. Then I drew on some steps like pattern down the triangle and filled in with black acrylic paint. After which I first did the top designs. I drew two horizontal lines from the tips of the nails. On the upper area I drew slanted lines and the bottom I did some simple chevron designs.
Then I created two slanted lines again outside the staircase like design and then leaving a gap, I drew a smaller triangle inside and filled it in. This design just came up to my head when I thought of tribal designs, turns out pretty cool!
Here's the close up macro shots! I do love how the base color peeks through so well with all the glitter showing through! I did add on Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat".
Pretty much love love this design! Do you like it too? :P

#31DC2015: Inspired by Fashion - Katy Perry Holo Feather Outfit
Halu!
This manicure that I did was to be inspired by fashion and I chose one of Katy Perry's looks! Well, you guys should know how I am such a huge fan of her, of course she should be my inspiration right? I'll show you my nail art look first *winks*
The KP look I went for was this simple outfit she wore. It is a black two piece look which had on feather patterns and are holographic amd so sparkly!
(Source)
So I had on two coats of Barry M "Espresso" and then I used a thin nail art brush and NCLA "Lightyears Ahead" a silver holographic polish and made a curved line for the middle of the feather. Then used light strokes to create the feathers.
Then to add on more bling, I dabbed on some Sinful Colors "Queen Of Beauty" with a nail art brush over the designs. I then added Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat" and I regretted a bit because the holographic effect was gone :/ but at least the silver glitter still stayed on quite well. Tell me what you think of it :)

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Book - Roald Dahl's Matilda
Hello hello!
Today my manicure is inspired by one of my favorite childhood reads. My Dad introduced to me Roald Dahl's books and I loved it! I have always been a bookworm, I could sit on my bed, couch, chair whatever the whole day and just read. One of my fav stories from Roald Dahl is "Matilda".
It became one of my classics must reads, alongside many other Roald Dahl stories. I even own a huge compilation of his stories in a pretty baby blue book, I wonder where it has gone now LOL. Probably hiding in one of the bookshelves! It's such a pity I don't get the chance to read as much as I want to now that I'm so busy!
Enough rambling, let's move into the nail art :D Here I have tried my best to replicate fonts on my small nails.
I sure had a hard time squeezing "Roald" on my nail vertically LOL. Anyway, I had on two coats of a baby pink using China Glaze "Something Sweet". The dark blue that I used for the font for "Matilda" and the background for Roald Dahl is OPI "Dating A Royal".
As for the background for the title, I used Sinful Colors "Unicorn" a very pale yellow to draw a rectangle box aross my middle and ring fingers and then outlined with Sinful Colors "Black On Black". And of course, matte everything I used Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat". Here's a close up shot of the mani.
What are some of your favorite books? Care to share some with me? :P

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Movie - Despicable Me's Minions
Hi reader!
Today's mani was something that I have wanted to try for a long time but always didn't find the opportuninty, it is MINION NAILS!! The movie that inspired is obviously Despicable Me. I found that movie really fun especially because of the minions! So, here's my inspiration image that I found on Google:
I used two coats of OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" as the base color on all nails. For my pointer and pinky, I drew a line near the free edge using Barry M "Cyan Blue".
As for the minions, I drew a thick black line near the cuticle area for the goggle straps. Then I used Sally Hansen "Celeb City" and a nail art brush to draw on two circles side by side. Then I went in with a dotting tool and created two white dots then a smaller black dot. I then outlined the outer and inner silver rings with black.
For the jumper, I used Barry M "Cyan Blue" again and a nail art brush to draw two slanted lines from the sides down then connecting with a horizontal line. Then, I drew two lines vertically down and filled in with the color. For the pocket I used Kure Bazaar "Queen" to draw on a U shape with the top connecting.
And I sealed everything with matte top coat as per usual (for this challenge LOL). Now here's a close up shots of one of the minions! Cute right?

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Song - Take Ăœ There
Hey hey!
This manicure is rather simple and straightforward. I had two coats of Barry M "Espresso" a black matte polish. Then I used OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" and copied the Ăœ. And then I used white acrylic paint to write out Take and There, pretty simple!
Have a listen of this song and pay attention to lyrics too! It's not always about the beats right?

#31DC2015: Inspired by a Color - Blue Skies
Hello hello!
Today I can choose a color for the prompt and of course I chose my favorite color, blue!! Yes, I did chose blue for last year's 31 days challenge too LOL, what's new right?
I pulled out Catrice "Blue Skyfall" a blue glitter with silver and different shades of blue glitters, really lovely! I had on two coats for the base. I thought of blue as the skies in this manicure, so I depicted the sky at night and in the day.
So I drew on stars and clouds to represent the night and day :)
I drew on the designs using white acrylic paint so that it is easier to erase any mistakes with water (provided you had on a top coat over the base color!). This mani is rather simple but I felt that it fully depicts what I wanted to share about my idea of "blue".

#31DC2015: Water Marble
Hey there!
Today I used a very special polish, it is ILNP "Sirene". It is a shifting polish which can see purple, green and red in different angles. It was honestly so fascinating! I don't own anything like this so I was pretty excited.
I had on one coat of black polish and then two coats of "Sirene" with a top coat. It was so gorgeous. I couldn't capture the color shigt in my pictures tho :(
Anyway, I then did a random water marble design with white and clear polishes. I used Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" and Essence "Absolute Pure".
Even tho there isn't any purple shift you can see, the green itself is rather stunning! It just looks so mysterious and bright at the same time! Super love it :D

#31DC2015: Galaxies
Day 19 of the 31 days challenge!
Today's prompt is all about galaxies! I first created a galaxy base on all my nails. I had a coat of black polish. Let it dry then pulled pieces of sponge and dabbed into white polish. Then I lightly dabbed the white polish over where I wanted colors to be.
After leaving it to dry for a bit then I added in the colors by applying it to the torn sponge. I used Sinful Colors "Verbena", Orly "Beach Cruiser" and Kure Bazaar "Turkoise". I also added some ILNP "Sirene" over the black spaces. I added some sparkle with China Glaze "Fairy Dust" and let it dry.
I used Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" to create dots and a star shape design on my pointer and pinky. For the others, I did some simple drips from the cuticle using a dotting tool and then a brush to connect the drips. I also added some white dots around too.
I then of course added a matte top coat, and boy did it turn out well too! "Fairy Dust" did not lose it's sparkle to the matte top coat, not bad! Here is a macro shot :D
Pretty pleased with my galaxy skills LOL but maybe not on my drips tho, looks kinda weird to me :'D

#31DC2015: Half Moons
Evening readers!
I have for you a neutral toned manicure for today's half moon prompt! I had on two coats of OPI "My Vampire Is Buff" and added a layer of Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat". I waited for 15 minutes, just to be sure.
I used those reinforcement stickers and placed them near my cuticles. Then I came in with China Glaze "I Heard That" and carefully remove the sticker right away. I used Wet N Wild matte top coat and I was still amazed that "I Heard That" glitter was still showing off strong!

#31DC2015: Glitter
Hi there!
Today I have decided to do some glitter placement! But I didn't want to spend forever on one nail so I decided to do a french manicure glitter placement manicure. And oh do I love this look so much!
I first painted the tips with Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" and made the lines more perfect by using a flat brush dipped into polish remover to correct any mistakes. I let it dry slightly and then I placed iridescent glitter pieces on the white tips.
Then I applied matte top coat over the whole design which makes it even more lovable because it makes the whole mani so real like a real nail LOL but with sparkly tips hehehe!

It's Day 16 of September!
Time for some geometric nails and a design which I wanted to try out for a long time! This manicure is recreated from @kgrdnr
post and she even has a
tutorial. If my nail didn't break which made me chop em down, this mani would've looked 10 times nicer :(
For the black, I used Barry M "Espresso" which is a black matte polish on my pointer and pinky. I also used it for the lines. The neon colors that I used are Shareydva "B10", Orly "Melt Your Popsicle" and Orly "Beach Cruiser". I did have a base of Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" so that the neon colors would pop more!

#31DC2015: Delicate Print
Hello there!
Today we are toning down with colors because we are going delicate. I applied two coats of Butter London "Cuppa" and allowed it to dry completely.
I chose two different images from the plate. I added a
stud which I got from BPS using my own money. However, there isn't any silver ones, but I managed to remove the gold color by wiping the stud with polish remover to get the silver color. I then placed it in the center of the flower pattern.
And now for the macro close ups! I do find it delicate with the colors and designs, it felt dainty too!

#31Dc2015: Flowers
Hi there!
Today's theme is flowers, and I decided to recreate the design of my home slippers! It is actually a paisley design but there are flowers inside them which I though fit the bill. So here's how my manicure looks like against my slippers:
I started off with two coats of China Glaze "Something Sweet". For the middle and ring I drew on a paisley starting with Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" to mark out the shape. Then I outlined with a light green using Essie "Navigate Her" and with some dots around it too. As the inner white are is dried, I then created simple flowers using Something Sweet for the petals and Navigate her for the center. I also drew on some round shapes going off the nail using Barry M "Cyan Blue" and then with a dotting tool create small dots on the lines.
For my pointer and pinky, I started off with creating the teardrop paisley shape with Cyan Blue then leaving a space outline with Navigate her around the shape. After the blue was dried, I created flowers again now using Navigate Her as the petals and Something Sweet as the center. You can see the flowers more clearly in the picture below.
Here's another macro shot
I felt that I recreated it pretty well and it looks really like my slippers from far, don't you think?

#31DC2015: Animal Prints
Hey there reader!
Today's prompt is rather fun, because I do have a pet doggie and I'd definitely do a paw print! I hope that still counts as an animal print LOL.
I had on two coats of Anna Gorelova by Dance Lenged "22" which is a minty but dusty green with amazing small gold flakies. I chose this base color because it reminds me of soft grass where doggies love.
I then used a dotting tool to create paw prints using Sinful Colors "Black On Black". I did a cluster of paw prints on my pointer and pinky and did one paw on each my middle and ring.
Anyone else who also have a pet dog? Mine's called Koko and she's 15 years old this year!

#31DC2015: Stripes
Hi there!
Today's prompt is stripey nails and I was inspired by
Pshiiit Polish. Instead of following her using tape, I drew the black lines free handed, hence it looks a bit messy LOL
I first created the colorful blocks horizontally. I used Sinful Colors "Vacation Time", China Glaze "Light As Air", Ruby Wings "Gypsy", China Glaze "For Audrey" and Revlon "Trendy".
I followed the above sequence from cuticle to tip on my pointer and pinky and the opposite for the middle and ring. I then created two black boarders at the sides on all nails, except the middle and ring are a bit thinner.
Then for the middle and ring design, I drew two thin lines between the side boarders. I fiished everything with Revlon Matte Top Coat. I love the color combination on this one, thanks to Pshiiit Polish!

#31DC2015: Polka Dots
Hi hi hi!
Time for some dots for today! I came across a website showing some polka dot nail designs but sadly they did not give credit. But I managed to find that the design was done by
Katy from blognailedit and this was her work:
I did some changes in terms of the design, but the overall idea was inspired.
I used Wet N Wild "Black Creme" for the base and then used a big dotting tool to create the yellow dots with OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" and with my smallest dotting tool, I created a column of dots beside the yellow ones. I used Revlon "Apricot Nectar" and Barry M "Cyan Blue". Then at the sides I used the big dotting tool and created more yellow dots. To finish it off, I used Wet N Wild Matte top coat.
How'd you find this mani? :P
