Well hello hello!
It is September and it does mean... the 31 days challenge! Yes, I am participating in this cray cray everyday nail art challenge! If you don't already know, it is a challenge that lasts for a month long with prompts that allow you to go with the theme however you want to interpret it. See the list at the end of the post!
Without further ado, let me share with you, my very first successful, one-stroke nail art!!! OMG girls, you have no idea how happy I was when the brush turned to my favour hehe! This one-stroke technique I would consider it advanced, and I would count myself very lucky when I did this. I tried it before, but failed miserably. So happy I managed to do it :D
Oh, I forgot to mention that today's prompt is red nails! So I went ahead and applied two nice coats of China Glaze "Adventure Red-y" which is a sophisticated deep red (swatches here) on my pointer and baby fingers.
Then on my middle and ring fingers, I had on two coats of Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" and let it dry completely. I should've matte the white base for easier one-stroke painting but I totally forgot.
Anyway, using a flat brush, I dipped one corner into dark red acrylic paint and the other in white acrylic paint. Then I created the petals by turning and twisting the brush to get the one-stroke effect.

I was am fairly into matte right now so I decided to try on this manicure with a matte look using Revlon "Matte Top Coat". I'm thinking to go for all matte finish for this whole challenge, what do you think?

I also used black acrylic paint mixed in with some white to lighten it a bit, and outlined messily around the flowers and add some dots near the centers of the flowers.

items were sent for review Hello there!! Today I have a fun mani AND a tutorial for you! I picked out these triangle patterned nail vinyls stencils from BornPrettyStore.com to review for you guys. I have not tried stencils before and was anticipating on what I can do with them. I decided to go for a soft back ground and a strong color for the triangles. So this was what I came up with!

The tutorial is below so you may take a look!

I used Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" as the white base color. For all top coats, I used none other than Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat".

For the saran/cling wrap technique, I used all China Glaze polishes in "Something Sweet", "Light As Air", "Lemon Fizz" and "For Audrey". I chose the pastel colors that I had to create the paddle pop effect. The white base below helps to bring out the colors better.

As for the sponging over the small triangle stencils, I used a cosmetic sponge and Sinful Colors "Black On Black". I also used black acrylic paint and a liner brush that I got from BPS to outline the big triangle on my accent nail.

I really am loving how these turned out and I am pretty sure you can easily get this look by using the stencils! They were really sticky so there will be minimal bleeding of polish on the smaller triangles. Also, I found that you can reuse the stencils so that you won't be wasting your money! But do take note that after a few uses it may lose the stickiness and polishes may bleed under the vinyls.

Overall, I really feel that stencils are fun and easy to use! Have you tried them? Tell me your experiences with them in the comments :)

Hello darlings!

When it comes to a color, I can only think of my favorite color, BLUE! Next, I thought what reminds me of blue and things such as the sky and ocean came to mind. Then I scanned through my nail rack and China Glaze - Water You Waiting For caught my eye.

This polish is amazing, I've swatched it HERE. So I decided to do fishy scale-y nails! I painted on two coats of WYWF and then I drew on scallop patterns to resemble fish scales.

I left my accent finger free of design to show off WYWF's true beauty. I used white acrylic paint to draw on the patterns using Pure Color No.10 brush.

Well, hello hello!

It's another red polish!! Featuring Adventure Red-y (clever name, me likey). This is one of my recent buys that I did for my retail therapy in the midst of preparing for my upcoming exam *guilty face* D: Anyway, in my stash, red is the least seen on the racks (which reminds me, I should dedicate a blog post about it!). I don't fancy red, pinks that much because the love for blue and greens are obviously more!

The bottle does show it a little bright, which I was kinda scared of because bright reds are a bit intimidating, yes? But irl it isn't bright! (I mean it in a good way). First off, the formula - UHHHHMAZINGG! Application and coverage? An A+ from me! If you view my swatch video, you can see at the beginning Adventure Red-y in one coat.

When I topped off this mani with Ciate's topcoat, I instantly felt like a mature, sophisticated woman. Contrary with what I thought about intimidating reds, this fellow here is a dusty and 'friendly' red!

Here is a better picture to show you the dsutiness of the red. I even think there's some hints of brown in there! This bottle is another one of those festive reds like Zoya Kimber.

This is one gorgeous, pretty, blue, green, teal and purple glitter with a jelly-like base and tiny micro glitters.

The first layer was rather hard for me as the polish was a little more on the watery side. I'm not sure if it's just this bottle or it's the same for all others. Anyway, swatches are in two coats with Glisten & Glow's HK Girl topcoat. I would've gone for a third coat for better coverage, but two was okay for me.

Look at my ring finger in the picture above! *drools* The glitter is uhhhhmazingly sparkly irl then captured in camera. It's just one awesome bomb of bling on my nails! Plus, the blue-teal colour is so me and I just love love love this polish!

Hey there! I have a MissJenFabulous inspired nail design! I had A LOT of fun doing this, because you CANT GO WRONG with this one! Mess is now an art, turns out really flattering!

Hello ladies! I got my very FIRST Essie nail polish, in the color FIRST TIMER (: It is a very pretty green yet with hints of blue in different lighting. Here is my swatch of Essie - First timer. The first coat was pretty opaque, but I went with two coats anyway (:

Interestingly, there was a difference in color change when I applied my top coat on. As seen below, the nail with top coat is leaning more towards yellow, and is much brighter than First Timer without top coat on. So I guess I got two colors in one! HAHAH! But, let's see how long the one without top coat can last!

Besides getting this Essie polish, I also got a nice warm yellow by China Glaze in the color Lemon Fizz. I realised that these two colors go very well with each other, so I decided to put on Lemon Fizz on my ring finer as an accent nail.

I found that my mani was a bit too boring with plain colors, so I added some dots with First Timer. It looks so cute ^^ What do you think?

If you haven't realise, these two colors are from my LIST! So, now I can strike two colors from it! HEHEHE, I'm so happy! Basically I didn't pay for these :P My mom wanted to get OPI Barre My Soul, and she asked me if I wanted any other polishes.... So I gave the names of these two to her :P THANK YOU MOMMA ♡
