Hello hello!
As I was finding inspiration for this week's manicure, I was sourcing through all my favourite Youtube nail artists. It was hard to choose which designs to recreate but I settled with Nailed It! NZ's original floral anchor nail art which another of my faves JauntyJuli recreated in a mani swap that they did!

I've linked all of their videos above and there's not much to explain on how to do this since they both did an excellent job doing that right?! What I'll say is that I didn't go completely the same with their design, as you can tell LOL.

I'll have all the polishes I used in  this manicure for you:

Black: a England "Camelot"
Nude: Butter London "Cuppa"
Dark Purple: Rimmel London "Seduce"
Orange: Sally Hansen "Fired Up"
Yellow: Sinful Colors "Unicorn"
Dark Green: Revlon "Trendy"
White: Sinful Colors "Snow Me White"

What I changed up this manicure compared to the Youtubers are the holographic topper. I used INM Nails Silver Holographic Topcoat (which I tend to reach out to a lot recently!). For my ring finger, after doing the floral anchor, I used a small brush to apply the holographic topper over the black base.

I love how this turned out, and I was even able to do this design with my non-dominant hand! Tell me what you think :)

Hi ya there!

Did you know, that Converse sneakers are my go-to shoes? Because I am not the everyday girly kinda girl so Converse are a good way of portraying me. It is comfortable and I mean, it's like a staple to me. It goes with everything in my wardrobe, not even kidding!

So, here it is. A nail art look dedicated to my most worn shoe.

My pair of Converse has a denim material and is a dark blue one. Not too bright for difficulty in matching with clothes, a nice dark blue (Y).

I did a denim effect using the fan brush technique. I had a base of Essence - Via Airmail then created a dark blue and light blue color using acrylic paints. I fan brushed these colors in different directions to create the effect.

Then I capped the tips with white polish. Next I created white dots with lines crossing each other to imitate the shoe laces and added a smaller blue dot inside the white one. I followed the curve of my nails to create an outline of a semi circle, following the design of the shoe. Lastly, I used a brown polish and created small dashes look like stitches on the shoe.

I loved how these turned out! I felt they were quite a good copy of the shoe itself :P What do you think?

Hey there!

Today I have a manicure that have been on my to-do list for the longest time everrrrrr! It is a tutorial that was done by SimplyNailogical. Her videos are so funny and entertaining to watch! To be specific, today's entry for the 30th day of the challenge is inspired by this gradient ikat tutorial done by her!

I first had on one coat of Sinful Colors "Unicorn" then another layer of Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat" and let dry. Then I went in to do my gradient with Sinful Colors "Unicorn", Revlon "Apricot Nectar" and China Glaze "Something Sweet".

The rest I need not explain how I did it as I followed through with Christine's tutorial linked above!

I do feel that my mani did turn out more messy than I have expected, or maybe it is because of my short nails that hinders it from being as nice as Christine's!!

Hello hello!

Today, we are going supernatural! First thing that came to mind was... Superman! So I decided to do a simple nail art with the Superman logo and some colored French tips.

For the logo, I started with two coats of Barry M "Cyan Blue" then I sketched the somewhat diamond shape with OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" and filled it in. Next I outlined with Revlon "China Flower" and then closely following the logo found on Google images, I drew on the "S" shape. Then I added a layer of Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat" and waited for it to dry. Then I went to outline the logo with black acrylic paint. After it's done I ended with Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat". Phew, that was a mouthful!!
For the French tips, I used the colors previously used for the logo (red, yellow and blue) with a nail art brush, colored my free edge. I then went in with black acrylic paint and lined carefully below the French tip and also used the matte top coat.

Pretty love how this turned out! It's girly yet powerful in a sense because of the Superman logo hehe! What do you think?

It's day 28 of the challenge, it's coming to an end?!?!
Today my nail art is inspired by a flag. I had a hard time thinking of what flag to do. I then surfed the trusty Google images for inspiration and I came across some race flags! Boom, that'll be it!!
So I had on two coats of Sinful Colors "Snow Me White" and then added Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat". I let it dry then I used black acrylic paint for the design.
I simply created checkered pattern on my pointer and pinky by started off with drawing sketch lines. Then filling alternate boxes in black. For my middle and ring fingers, I drew on the flag with the checkered patter on it too.
To make more precise lines, I used a toothpick to scratch out mistakes or fine tune some areas. Note that you can only do this when you already have a top coat before that :)
I think that this mani looks pretty cool and reminds me of the Grand Prix Formula 1 race! Do you watch the F1 and keep up with the seasons too?

Hola!!
Today I am gonna be inspired by an artwork. I discovered Society 6 a few years back and I was so glad that I did! It allows artists to upload their works and the Society 6 then reproduces these designs in many items like clocks, tote bags, shirts, etc.
I bought a tote bag from them last Christmas as a gift to myself with a really lovely design with some words. I love designs with quotes and pretty patters. So I came across this design which says "treat yoself" with beautiful turquoise leaves design.
So with that, I started on my nails! I had on two coats of OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls". Using a small nail art brush and Morgan Taylor "Gotta Have Hue" and drew on some curved lines and then using the body of the bristles to create the leaves. I did these on my pointer and pink so that it feels like the leaves are coming outwards from the middle and ring.
So for the inside two nails, I decided to write the quote over both nails. I first sketched with Sinful Colors "This Is It" a light yellow gold then I went over with Sally Hansen "Golden-I" which is a darker gold.

If only my nails were longer, the leaf designs would've been nicer... Oh wellz.

It's time for one of my fav things... pattern!

Yeah, I do have a thing for 'em :P Today I am gonna be inspired by some tribal patterns that I have not done in like two years?!?! Well, it's time again! Plus some herringbone patterns too!

I had on two coats of piCture pOlish "Unicorn" and then added Glisten & Glow "HK Girl Top Coat" for a smooth surface to draw on the designs.

For the herringbone pattern, I simple drew on two lines on my nails. Then drew on slanted lines on alternate sides and then filling in alternating areas in black acrylic paint.

For the tribal design I started off with a triangle at the cuticle. Then I drew on some steps like pattern down the triangle and filled in with black acrylic paint. After which I first did the top designs. I drew two horizontal lines from the tips of the nails. On the upper area I drew slanted lines and the bottom I did some simple chevron designs.

Then I created two slanted lines again outside the staircase like design and then leaving a gap, I drew a smaller triangle inside and filled it in. This design just came up to my head when I thought of tribal designs, turns out pretty cool!

Here's the close up macro shots! I do love how the base color peeks through so well with all the glitter showing through! I did add on Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat".

Pretty much love love this design! Do you like it too? :P

Halu!

This manicure that I did was to be inspired by fashion and I chose one of Katy Perry's looks! Well, you guys should know how I am such a huge fan of her, of course she should be my inspiration right? I'll show you my nail art look first *winks*

The KP look I went for was this simple outfit she wore. It is a black two piece look which had on feather patterns and are holographic amd so sparkly!
(Source)
So I had on two coats of Barry M "Espresso" and then I used a thin nail art brush and NCLA "Lightyears Ahead" a silver holographic polish and made a curved line for the middle of the feather. Then used light strokes to create the feathers.
Then to add on more bling, I dabbed on some Sinful Colors "Queen Of Beauty" with a nail art brush over the designs. I then added Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat" and I regretted a bit because the holographic effect was gone :/ but at least the silver glitter still stayed on quite well. Tell me what you think of it :)

Hello hello!

Today my manicure is inspired by one of my favorite childhood reads. My Dad introduced to me Roald  Dahl's books and I loved it! I have always been a bookworm, I could sit on my bed, couch, chair whatever the whole day and just read. One of my fav stories from Roald Dahl is "Matilda".

It  became one of my classics must reads, alongside many other Roald Dahl stories. I even own a huge compilation of his stories in a pretty baby blue book, I wonder where it has gone now LOL. Probably hiding in one of the bookshelves! It's such a pity I don't get the chance to read as much as I want to now that I'm so busy!

Enough rambling, let's move into the nail art :D Here I have tried my best to replicate fonts on my small nails.

I sure had a hard time squeezing "Roald" on my nail vertically LOL. Anyway, I had on two coats of a baby pink using China Glaze "Something Sweet". The dark blue that I used for the font for "Matilda" and the background for Roald Dahl is OPI "Dating A Royal".
As for the background for the title, I used Sinful Colors "Unicorn" a very pale yellow to draw a rectangle box aross my middle and ring fingers and then outlined with Sinful Colors "Black On Black". And of course, matte everything I used Wet N Wild "Matte Top Coat". Here's a close up shot of the mani.

What are some of your favorite books? Care to share some with me? :P

Hi reader!

Today's mani was something that I have wanted to try for a long time but always didn't find the opportuninty, it is MINION NAILS!! The movie that inspired is obviously Despicable Me. I found that movie really fun especially because of the minions! So, here's my inspiration image that I found on Google:

I used two coats of OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" as the base color on all nails. For my pointer and pinky, I drew a line near the free edge using Barry M "Cyan Blue".

As for the minions, I drew a thick black line near the cuticle area for the goggle straps. Then I used Sally Hansen "Celeb City" and a nail art brush to draw on two circles side by side. Then I went in with a dotting tool and created two white dots then a smaller black dot. I then outlined the outer and inner silver rings with black.

For the jumper, I used Barry M "Cyan Blue" again and a nail art brush to draw two slanted lines from the sides down then connecting with a horizontal line. Then, I drew two lines vertically down and filled in with the color. For the pocket I used Kure Bazaar "Queen" to draw on a U shape with the top connecting.

And I sealed everything with matte top coat as per usual (for this challenge LOL). Now here's a close up shots of one of the minions! Cute right?

Hey hey!

Today I am inspired by my latest fav song, which isn't exactly a new one. It is called Take Ăœ There, by Jack Ăœ ft. Kiesza and the one that I am loving the most is the Take Ăœ There Missy Elliott Remix!!

This manicure is rather simple and straightforward. I had two coats of Barry M "Espresso" a black matte polish. Then I used OPI "I Just Can't Cope-acabana" and copied the Ăœ. And then I used white acrylic paint to write out Take and There, pretty simple!

Have a listen of this song and pay attention to lyrics too! It's not always about the beats right?

Hello hello!

Today I can choose a color for the prompt and of course I chose my favorite color, blue!! Yes, I did chose blue for last year's 31 days challenge too LOL, what's new right?

I pulled out Catrice "Blue Skyfall" a blue glitter with silver and different shades of blue glitters, really lovely! I had on two coats for the base. I thought of blue as the skies in this manicure, so I depicted the sky at night and in the day.

So I drew on stars and clouds to represent the night and day :)

I drew on the designs using white acrylic paint so that it is easier to erase any mistakes with water (provided you had on a top coat over the base color!). This mani is rather simple but I felt that it fully depicts what I wanted to share about my idea of "blue".

Well hello there!

A new nail art for the weekend! I have here a recreation of SoNailicious' MNFWA 2015 mani.I did everything free hand, hence the edges are not perfect! I also used a dotting tool for the blue dots!

sonailicious-inspired-nail-art

I used Sally Hansen - Bubblegum Pink for the half moons and chevrons, Essie - Avenue Maintain for the dots and a-England - Camelot for the black triangles! As for the base... well you guessed it! OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls *duhhhhh*

Here are some macro shots for your pure enjoyment :D

I find this mani really fun because of all the bright colors and then theres the edgey black triangle which was really cool! SoNialicious has been one of my top favorite discovery of nail blogs from the start and well, Maria has really nice nails and designs... and PHOTOS! Just love all of it hehehe!

Hey yo there!

I recently snagged a really good deal for a Herschel laptop sleeve! I got this for half price?!?!?! Yes HALF! And the best part is that I do love this design, it has blue my favourite color and the polka dots were really cute!

I was then inspired to do a mani to match with it, take a lookie :D

Here is a close up shot of my nail art. I used Butter London - Cuppa as the base color and then added dark blue polka dots using Jior Couture - I Can Azure You It's Fall and the last step was to cap the top one third of the nail with the same polish.

I do like how these turned out as I find the blue tips and polka dots are just the right amount of edginess and cuteness. What do you guys think?

Hey there!

Today is a day full of hearts! It is Valentine's Day and here's a mani for the special occasion <3

I recreated IG@ane_li mani that I fell in love with when I saw it. Her mani was just perfect and so cute! I love all her designs and really look up to her! So at first, I was contemplating if I should try it as I was also quite afraid that it'll turn out really bad.

But I mustered courage and finally did it! I was very pleased with the outcome hehe! I used black and white acrylic paint which was really useful as I could just use a cotton bud with water and rub any mistakes away and redo it.

For the pink gradient, I used China Glaze - Something Sweet (light pink) and Sinful Colors - Island Coral (darker pink) with a make up sponge. Then I added a layer of top coat.

Hope you're all having a great lovin' day~

Hello hello!

Today I have a simple and fun mani to show you guys! It is inspired by a washi tape I got at Daiso, the two-dollar store. It has a cute chevron pattern with blue and green-ish yellow colors. It goes with two blue chevron, one green chevron, then another two blue ones, so on and so forth.

I recreated the design and tada!

I used OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base and then using Kure Bazaar - Turkoise and Kure Bazaar - Carioca for the blue and green respectively.

I free handed the chevrons, boy was it difficult! I used Pure Color No 10 brush to do the chevrons and to amend mistakes, I went back in to touch up with OPI - MBSW. Here is a close up shot :)

I felt that this design is really simple and cute! What do you think?

Hello readers!

Here's something special *grins* My dear friend, Viro, is into henna and I helped her create an Instagram account for her to capture all her work. She did some henna artwork on my hand and I took inspiration from her design in today's mani.

This is the look that I came up with to match my henna design:

I extracted two designs. First was the really cool pattern she did on my fingertips. I sectioned my nail into half, the lower half was some drips while the top part was scallop pattern. I used a brown acrylic paint and my Pure Color No 10 brush for all the details!

As for the accent design, I followed closely to the flower on my palm and did a rather sketchy look for it LOL. Oh, I forgot to mention the base! I used OPI - You're So Vain-illa.

Do give my friend a follow on her Instagram account, click HERE! Thanks so much for reading guys! See you in the next post *winks*

Hey guys!

Here is another inspired-by post! I did one recently inspired by my H&M top and I liked the idea of getting inspiration from things around me. So, here is another mani that was inspired by Kikki K pencil case which was a birthday gift from my Aunt a year or two ago.

I actually just recently used it as a cosmetic pouch (because I needed the space to store my Bliss Kiss Pure Nail Oil Pen LOL). The pencil case has pastel colored cute pink, light green, mint and blue stripes and I really do like it, hence I made this mani!

I started off with OPI - My Boyfriend Scales Walls as the base and letting it dry for a good 30 minutes. I then cut out my striping tape and I used five strips per nail. Following the design on my pouch, the colors are alternated with white but there is a double pink color.

I followed the colors closely and picked out the following polishes (in order, L-R): Sinful Colors - Island Coral, China Glaze - For Audrey, L.A Colors - 63, Ruby Wings - Gypsy. I then topped off the whole design with Glisten & Glow's HK Girl Top Coat.

I was happy with this mani as I am usually not really a striping tape kinda of person LOL, there were some imperfections, but it's okay!

Do you guys want to see more inspired-by manis?
